One of my favourite local bloggers. She's actually just working this whole outfit, from her warm-coloured braids to her pointed toe heels. Working.

Good Friday
Sometimes it's good to just go out; out side of your own surroundings, out side of any place familiar or any place that's so familiar it's become mundane. That is what I did on Friday, I took a walk with my friends Dudu and Sitha (on the right in the photo above) and we went downtown, we visited the local thrift shops and hospices and took pictures - of ourselves mostly (haha). It was a lovely day, that ended with a glass of red wine and a Kendrick Lamar album.

Words | Knowing Who You Are
“Knowing who you are is the
greatest wisdom a human being can possess. Know your goals, what you love, your
morals, your needs, your standards, what you will not tolerate and what you are
willing to die for. It defines who you are. I have learned not to obsess over
being number one all the time. Sometimes not being number one gives you the
incentive and the courage to fight harder; it is motivating. Have patience.
Have grace. Be secure enough in yourself to base success on personal
growth.Take at least twenty minutes every day to be still and quiet. Time to
sit in complete silence. Think. Reflect. Dissect your thoughts and feelings.
Relive any mistakes from the day before. Decide how to be smarter and tougher,
how to be more committed and considerate of others and more sensitive and aware
of your surroundings. Choose something you learned that will make you a better
person.Choose to be happy and positive. Live like the blessed human you
are.Define you.Knowing who you are allows you to create your own beautiful
legacy.”
(Beyonce Knowles'contribution in Katie Couric's book The Best Advice I Ever Got: Lessons from Extraordinary Lives)
These are not wise words from Frederick Nietzsche or any other famous philosopher, but they are wise nonetheless. I love them.

The Fitting (and the hat)
Just because your the creative director of the one of the biggest fashion houses in the world, doesn't mean your going to stop taking photographs.
Here Hedi Slimane (creative director of Saint Laurent Paris and well known photographer) takes photos of the fitting before Saint Laurent's Spring 2013 debut.
The clothes and the photos are amazing.
And these pictures don't exactly abate my current need (emphasis on the 'need') for a wide brim felt hat - this is the showcasing of wide brim felts at their best, I say.
