Ode to a Liner

So...I lost my Rimmel Liquid Liner last month --insert long, drawn out and dramatic sigh-- to some of you it may not seem like a big deal but, to the struggling student who lives way beyond her means, its a big deal.
I was in the midst of perfecting the "cat eye", instead of doing it and re-doing it until resembling a junkie or raccoon, I had finally aced the complex make-up style with one, effortless (and symmetrical)  "swish".
Ah...gone are the days, I'm not sure when I'm going to buy another one but by the time I get it I will most definitely be out of practice.
I guess its back to 'raccoon vibes' for me.

Truth

Hard Times.

I have been gone for a while I know, don't worry though - I  am neither dead nor missing, I am simply trying to catch up with work. I would love nothing more than to talk to you all but I'm going through some HARD TIMES...I predict this nihilism will come to an end on Friday (woooop!) and then its just me and you (:
Cheerio then - we'll meet again on the (God given) weekend!
Love!
ps. would you wear that jersey???I would definitely wear that jersey, give me a black/grey pair of distressed skinnies, leggings, jeggings or stockings with some grunge-tastic pair of combats - and you're good to go!

Summer Time...

And the clothes are eeeeaasyyy....
I believe the hat trick in this new season is all about seemingly effortless attire - with maximum result.
You do that and then...voila.

08 - 10 - 2011

This is a picture I took during the Coldplay concert - if memory serves me correctly it was taken during Violet Hill. I could explain just how amazing that night was, and how I will never -ever forget it for as long as I live but -- when it comes to seeing your all time favorite English band live, language tends to fail you.

Nyane-Mpho.

Nyane Lebajoa.

I'm somewhat of an internet addict (my university net quota will most definitely attest to that) - in the midst of all sorts of academic nihilism I am still able to find the coolest things on my current substitute boyfriend that is the world wide web.
But did my sub. boyfriend not find me a gem recently?
Two gems actually, they go by the names of Nyane and Mpho Lebajoa - and they're two of the coolest bloggers around.

Mpho Lebajoa.
I love their vintage, 90's punk meets -grunge- meets- cool look and feel; its extremely refreshing to see people take current trends and (successfully) add their own authentic yet fashion-forward spin to them.
Mpho and Nyane - two girls I'm happy to have on my blogroll.
Okay let me get back to work (gag) - you stick around and look at the cool photos!*

ps. last weekend's Coldplay concert was EPIC!will try and post some pictures (I'm pathetic though...there are probably about five in total!) as soon as I can!

Friday Cool

I was told I need to blog more about men's fashion - granted - I do. It's an area of fashion I completely respect and admire.
There's nothing cooler, than urban dapper (on a man).
Happy Friday Folks :)

SAFW: Behind the Scenes and Off the Ramp

It was South African Fashion Week (Winter) last week and, unfortunately, I did not get to go (insert uncontrollable sobs) but instead of sulking or simply showing you pieces from my favorite shows as I usually do,  I thought maybe I could mix things up a bit this time.
I want us to take a look at the people who attended the shows, the bloggers, the journo's, the interns, the celebs as well as the groupies - for once lets feast our eyes on the art off the ramp...

These photos were actually taken from a site called itswhatiminto.com its a recent find, but do yourself a favour and check it out because it really is a gem!

If you would like to know a bit more about this season's SAFW (the shows etc) I suggest you check out ifashion.co.za - they're really good at breaking the shows down and telling about the 'hots' and 'not so hots' of the week.
Hope you're all having a great start to the week and my heart goes out to all those in South Africa suffering from the horrible weather - tornadoes, snow and rain; who would've thought?
