Initially I was going to post about Maki Oh's amazing Fall '13 collection but then I came across pictures for her Spring '13 collection and I was gobsmacked. Where was I months ago when these were released? Under a cave's cave, obviously.

I had seen this face a couple of times before, mostly on tumblr where her cool calmness and hot sense of style would show up on my blog roll, always accompanied by thousands of reblog notes and always accompanied by pleasant suprise on my part. However, I only just discovered her personal blog and I love it.
Teff is a New York photographer and blogger whose writing is just as articulate, honest, and powerful as her dress sense. She effortlessly emanates urban street wear, putting together outfits that say everything without over-doing anything. Her tumblr is labeled Teff the Don, a (maybe deliberately) ambiguous name for a woman who seems to be one of the leaders of urban street style.
Oh yeah and she's really really pretty.

While looking through the subtle but strong coolness that is missmillib's blog I came across these photos. This was a shoot done in Lagos Nigeria for Kingdom T-Shirts, the amazing givenchy-esque shirts worn by the models you see.
Yes blogosphere, Africans can produce clothing that is hip, edgy and modern and (shock horror) doesn't have traditional African print.
She comes to visit, we're listening to Toro Y Moi and we're about to go eat. She starts taking photographs of my room and I make nothing of it; if you know Dudu you know she is always taking photos so...I carried on getting ready. About a month and half later a Facebook album is made based solely on my room and I'm completely shocked. The pictures are beautiful and I feel they perfectly capture the kind of person I am right now.
It's in these moments, these seemingly routine moments when it feels like nothing is going on when amazing things are being made - thank you Dudu for reminding me of that.

It's been almost a month since I last posted and I must apologise for that; it can be attributed to a number of things like the Easter Holiday and slightly shady internet connections to being super-super busy and not having enough to time sleep nevermind write on this lovely blog of mine. There has been one major change, well two changes since the last time I spoke to you; firstly I am University graduate (woooop wooop) and secondly I am proud new owner of an Apple ipad (what the whaaat?!).
I may or may not have balled my eyes out the night I got this from my family.
This is where words fail me because grateful, ineffably happy, and suprised don't really capture how I felt.
We'll stick to those for now though.
